Functional Fitness gets a bad rap especially when it comes to gaining strength and building muscle, and RIGHTLY SO! Kettlebells, bodyweight, training, mace, and club work are all fun and a great way to get into general shape, but they are sub par for building muscle. That's why we are not afraid of using barbells to get strong and jacked. BARBELLS ARE IDEALLY SUITED for this task. Don't shy away from the barbell.
There is one simple truth to leaning out. You need to be in a caloric deficit. That's it. No seriously. That's literally the one thing that matters most. There are two ways to make that happen. Eat fewer calories, or burn more calories. We handle this by helping you think about nutrition differently and teaching you ballistic, full body movments with clubs, maces, and kettlebells. This training methodology will burn far more calories than traditional barbell training will.
Working out hard, lifting big weights, and proper nutrition are all important for you to meet your physical goals, but without being consistent for a long period of time they will be short lived. You need to keep your mind engaged. You need to enjoy the process enough to keep doing it. One of the best ways to make that happen is with skill development. This is where the various modalities of movements we cover is crucial. Maces, clubs, kettlebells, and even barbell movements have a learning curve. It's rewarding and engaging when you acquire new skills.
